President's Message
Dear Amigos,
As we approach Thanksgiving, my heart brims with gratitude for the honor of serving as your President. Since 1973, the club began as a way for San Antonio’s ski enthusiasts to share their passion for mountain adventures, but has evolved over the past five decades into something truly special.
While skiing remains at our core, I love how our club has diversified. This year, we were not just planning ski trips to Alta, Beaver Creek, Park City, and Whitefish– we also had an epic Solar Eclipse day trip to Kerrville, and we started interest groups bringing cyclists together on weekend mornings, sharing laughs at trivia nights, enjoying each other's company over brunches and dinners.
Last week, at our last membership meeting for this calendar year, recent enhancements to our website were demonstrated by Linda Lopez-George, VP Communications. The website is our digital hub for staying connected and informed, and I feel the new features amplify our email communications to members. I’d like to point out a couple of new additions aimed to streamline the experience for our frequent travelers. You now have the option to add to your profile your passport and Global Entry information, eliminating the need to repeatedly share these details with trip leaders for each trip requiring this information. Also, even though each member received a vinyl name tag this fall, a few members asked if they could have magnetic name badges similar to the ones the board members wear, so you now have the option to order a name tag for $15.
Since last week, another website enhancement Forums has launched. Once again, in response to a request for a digital space to post items a member wants to sell/swap, the Forum Marketplace was created as a dedicated space where members can sell or swap gear from ski and snowboard equipment to bikes.
To protect your privacy and offer security, members will need to login into your profile. As a member, you retain control on how much or how little you want to engage digitally.
As we gather with our loved ones this holiday season, I'm thankful for each of you who make our club special – a place where friendships form, adventures begin, and memories are made, whether on the slopes or right here in Texas.
Warm regards,
Kerry Huffstutler
President
