President’s Summary: 2026 Annual Meeting
Thank you to the 47 members who joined us for this year’s Annual Meeting—and fully embraced the spirit of the evening. From plenty of green attire (including a standout green wig) to a signature green beverage and a lively trivia moment on St. Patrick’s nationality, it was a fun and festive way to connect as a club. Several members even walked away with chocolate treats after correctly answering the trivia question.
For those unable to attend, a link to the full presentation deck is provided and includes detailed metrics and trip information. Below is a high-level recap of key takeaways.
Over the past year, Los Amigos continued to deliver a strong mix of ski, international, and social experiences. Participation across our 2025–2026 trips—from Alta and Taos to Peru and Chile—reflects the continued enthusiasm of our membership for both adventure and connection.
Looking ahead, excitement is already building for the 2026–2027 travel season. During the meeting, nine pre-registrations were made for our upcoming non-ski trips, including the Vermont foliage bike tour, Taos summer escape, and San Miguel de Allende culture and cuisine. These shorter 4–5 night experiences are resonating with members seeking flexibility and new destinations. Members are encouraged to visit the club website to explore all upcoming trips and pre-register early to secure your spot. Registration for all 2026–2027 trips—including ski destinations—will open in early June.
Beyond travel, our social events and interest groups continue to play an important role in keeping members engaged year-round. These gatherings—whether over a meal, on the trail, or at trivia night—remain central to the Los Amigos experience.
The Annual Meeting also included the election of the 2026–2027 Board of Directors. I’m pleased to share that the slate was approved unanimously, including a nomination from the floor that ensures a seamless transition for the VP Communications role in the upcoming term. With every position now filled, the club is well-positioned for a strong start to the new fiscal year on May 1.
Members also approved the proposed Bylaws March 2026 updates, which focused on clarifying roles and streamlining board structure.
As we look ahead, I encourage members to consider getting more involved. Now is a great time to volunteer to lead a trip. If you’re interested, please reach out to Linda Lopez-George, incoming VP of Trips.
Finally, thank you to our outgoing board members-Cara Peterson, Charles Peterson, and Wesley Hausenfluke for their service this year. We also give a shout out to trip leaders whose time and energy continue to make Los Amigos such a vibrant and welcoming community.
If you missed the meeting, I encourage you to review the presentation deck for more details. We’re looking forward to another year of great trips, shared experiences, and good company.
See you soon—on the road, trails, or at the April 7th happy hour at Katerina Restaurant & Bar.
