Important Note: The response to this trip has been fantastic but our boats are now full and diving is officially closed. We have plenty of room for non-divers (there are 6 or more on the trip). Southwest Vacations (part of Southwest Airlines) is running a 50th year anniversary special. With that special, we can stay at Iberostar, a premier 5 star resort on Palancar beach, for $815, including air. Basically, you can stay 5 nights/4 full days at a high end resort for less than $1,000 per person, everything included (except diving). The special has to be booked individually because it is much better than any group rate that we can get from Southwest.
Trip details and process
We’re taking an unusual path to signing up for this trip. Before registering for this trip, please purchase your air/land package from Southwest Vacations.
Once you’ve registered for the hotel and air, then come back here to sign up for the trip and the dive packages. Follow these steps to get your air/land package.
Act Now. We don’t know how long this special will last, especially at this incredible price.
- Go to Southwestvacations.com. Select Flight + Hotel. Flying from SAT to CZM. Dates are 6-11 November. Enter 1 room, 2 adults (more about singles in a moment). Select search. If you wish to extend before or after the trip, you can do so at this step.
- Scroll down to Iberostar. Select it. You will then be presented with a few different options. You can upgrade your room closer to the pool. You can upgrade your flight to a shorter layover in Houston. You can add trip insurance for about $70, something we recommend. You do not need airport transfer or a rental car. Call Skeeter if you have any questions about those.
- Pay for the trip and you have now booked your room and airfare at an incredible price.
This is different from our normal procedure but will easily save you $600 on the trip. We think it is worth the hassle. It will still be a Los Amigos trip. We will still all be together. We’ll go diving together and hang out at the pool and bar after diving with everyone, to include the non-divers.
What about Singles?
The price is double occupancy but we want you on the trip. There are three options.
A) Find a friend who wants to go. This way you get the double occupancy price.
B) Right now the single supplement is about $340 for a room by yourself. Sign up on the website as 1 person in 1 room and you’ll get the single supplement price.
C) Contact Skeeter immediately and let him know that you want to go but need a roommate. We will pair roommates together as quickly as we can.
Will I need a COVID test to come home?
Right now there is no requirement to get tested for COVID to return to the US after a foreign trip. Hopefully that will remain in effect.
